As President and CEO, Adam Sills oversees business operations for CapSpecialty. Previously, Adam served as Head of Specialty Underwriting at CapSpecialty where he was responsible for the production and profitability of the company’s underwriting operations, as well as Marketing and Distribution. Adam has presented at many national conferences including RIMS, PLUS, the McAfee Security conference and the Georgetown Law Cybersecurity Law Institute. Adam joined CapSpecialty in 2013 and brings over 15 years of experience to his role as Head of Specialty Underwriting. Adam is based in our New York, NY office.

As the General Counsel, Suzanne is responsible for advising the CEO, board and company on all corporate legal and regulatory matters pertinent to CapSpecialty.  Suzanne joined the company in 2015 as Associate General Counsel and in 2021 was appointed the company’s first Chief Privacy Officer, responsible for advising the company on all matters relating to data privacy and security.  Prior to joining CapSpecialty, Suzanne worked for a Lloyd’s, London Syndicate for nine years in both the claims and compliance units.  Upon graduating law school in 2022, Suzanne was a litigation attorney in private practice for four years.

Todd Burrick is responsible for CapSpecialty’s portfolio management, technical underwriting and risk management and oversees the actuarial pricing and reserving functions. Todd has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and joined CapSpecialty in 2013. Prior to his current role, Todd was the Head of Actuarial for CapSpecialty. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President covering North American pricing functions. Todd received a JD degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

As Chief Financial Officer, Ryan Byrnes oversees financial operations and is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial results and projections for the directors and officers of CapSpecialty. Prior to joining in 2019, Ryan worked at investment management firms as an analyst covering North American insurance. Ryan is based in our Glastonbury, CT office and brings over 15 years’ experience to CapSpecialty.

As Chief Marketing & Engagement Officer, Lynne Fletcher manages all of the marketing and distribution operations across all lines of business along with human resources and administration services for CapSpecialty. Based in our Hartford, CT office, Lynne has more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Before joining CapSpecialty in 2016, she has held various senior level business development and marketing roles.

As Chief Operating Officer, Joe Labieniec is responsible for the production and profitability of the company’s underwriting operations for Professional Liability, Healthcare and Specialty Casualty, as well as corporate Information Technology and Operations. Previously, Joe was Head of Professional Liability at CapSpecialty
where he managed the division strategy, underwriting guidelines and budget for CapSpecialty’s suite of professional liability products. Prior to joining CapSpecialty, Joe was the Head of Financial Lines Wholesale. Joe graduated from Marist College in 2001 with a BS in Business Administration.

As Head of Surety & Fidelity, Tim Steele, has led the department to major growth through regional expansion, capacity increase and development in select Surety segments. Previously, Tim was the Head of Operations and Technology for CapSpecialty where he implemented automation and process improvements to support
growth. Tim started his underwriting career in 1988, then  was a regional manager and AVP prior to joining CapSpecialty. Tim graduated from Trinity College in 1988 with a BA in Economics.
